Cyber Defense - Monitoring and Detection
The primary goal of NACMAST Enterprise is to provide reliable computer network defense services to our customers. Originally developed solely for the Department of Defense (DoD), the NACMAST intrusion detection architecture provides state of the art protection to government and commercial entities.
Using our proven architecture, we deploy sensors at the customers network perimeter points. This allows us to capture all network traffic entering and exiting the network. These sensors use sophisticated software to reduce the data to a manageable size. The data is then sent over encrypted channels back to our analysis center.
Our analysis center is staffed 24x7x365 by highly trained intrusion analysts. Our staff is fully Department of Defense 8570.1 compliant. Whereas most intrusion detection systems rely fully on automated systems to detect intrusions, our model includes a team of highly trained human analysts in addition to our sophisticated automated detection technologies. Our analysts constantly monitor customer network traffic for intrusions and are capable of identifying the new "zero day" attacks that machines can not detect.

Cyber Defense - NACMAST Enterprise
The Network Attack Characterization and Simulation Test bed (NACMAST) is a consortium led by EWA GSI that consists of government, academic, and commercial entities whose purpose is to mitigate attacks aimed at America's computer networks. Attacks upon our customers networks are averted through the application of a mixture of reactive and proactive techniques, among these are: performing retrospective network traffic analysis, conducting network vulnerability assessments, constantly monitoring network traffic, detecting threats in real time using our proprietary automated alerting systems, and by anticipating future threats through research and development. We support our customers by providing a comprehensive set of network security solutions designed to improve their overall security posture.
The EWA GSI Bowling Green Computer Network Defense Service Provider (BGCNDSP) is the operational wing of the NACMAST consortium. The BGCNDSP was established in 2009 as an enclave of the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. The BGCNDSP operates from within the EWA Government Systems, Inc offices in Bowling Green, Ky. The BGCNDSP provides network defense services to both government and non-government entities within the United States.

Information Security - Cooperative Vulnerability Assessment
Cooperative Vulnerability Assessments are a highly effective means of determining an organizations information security posture. The National Security Agency (NSA) developed a follow on process to their Information Security Assessment Methodology (IAM) called the Information Security Evaluation Methodology (IEM). IEM provides a standardized method for EWA GSI personnel to gain an understanding of a customers organizational security as it relates to policies and procedures. IEM was developed by the NSA and commercial information security assessors and has been used within the U.S. government since 1997.
EWA GSI performs IEM Assessments through their NACMAST consortium in a three phase process: pre-evaluation, on-site evaluation and penetration test, and post-evaluation review. Contact us for more information or to schedule an IEM Assessment for your facility.

Miniaturization Engineering Design & Development
The EWA GSI Miniaturization and Microelectronics Design Center (Montpelier, VT) offers a unique, 100% domestic, technical and engineering service for both Government and Industry to establish cost-effective ways to reduce the size, weight, and power of electronics while increasing operational capability (SWaP-C).
This service encompasses the cost-effective application of the full spectrum of digital and RF miniaturization technologies. The EWA GSI team is experienced in many miniaturization technologies including Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC), Microwave Monolithic Integrated Circuit (MMIC), system on chip (SoC) and multi-chip module (MCM). In addition to these high-end microelectronics solutions, some applications benefit more from the lower-cost, shortened development cycles available in modified-Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technologies. These technologies include embedded processors, Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), and Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). Multiple technologies are often combined on a single printed circuit board (PCB) along with supporting memory and interfacing components. EWA GSI provides custom software/firmware for the FPGA and embedded processors to perform the necessary computations and complete the solution.
Excellent SWaP-C gains are possible in this category of miniaturization. For many target applications, this modified-COTS approach represents a cost-effective market-ready solution. Other EWA GSI customers require the full advantage of custom ASIC or MMIC design and may only use mod-COTS technologies for prototype or proof-of-concept. In either case, EWA-GSI customers are pleased to know that cutting-edge microelectronics design is available to them with an experienced team ready to transition their design when it is required.

Penetration Testing
External threats are constantly evolving with the flow of business and technology. As companies leverage new technologies, their exposure to risk grows. Improperly secured networks, hosts, and applications are attack surfaces that can be exploited. Any successful attack on an organization results in the loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability of critical data and services.
Our penetration testing service is designed to help organizations understand their external information security posture by identifying weaknesses within information systems and applications. Our team operates from the perspective of an attacker to attempt unauthorized access to your environment.
We test for vulnerabilities within:
• Servers
• Routers
• Firewalls
• Wireless Networks
• Intrusion Detection Systems
• Web Sites and Applications (Extranet and Intranet)
Our thoroughly tested method of penetration testing which takes place in five steps: intelligence gathering, scanning, enumeration, exploitation, and exfiltration. The final review of the penetration test consists of a meeting in which final deliverables are transferred to the customer and a presentation is made regarding the assessment findings. At that time, recommendations are made based upon the assessment results.
